Chris Smith-Hill has diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Chris is currently serving as the Head of Product - Style Analytics at Confluence. Prior to this, they worked at StatPro where they held various positions including Product Manager - Product Design & Reporting, Product Manager- Head of Usability, and Head of User Experience R+. During their time at StatPro, Chris was responsible for directing the user interface and user experience of R+, drafting roadmaps, writing specs, gathering stakeholder feedback, creating prototypes, filing bugs, publishing product documentation, and conducting internal and external demos.

Before joining StatPro, Chris was a Product Manager at Thomson Reuters, where they led recurring sales, engineering, and support update calls and assimilated acquired product architecture into larger company systems. Chris also played a key role in integrating content and user experience of the acquired product across business lines. Additionally, at Thomson Reuters, they served as a QA Engineer and applied financial industry knowledge to financial software testing, developed manual and automated testing plans, and utilized SQL, Python, and R for rapidly automated data visualization.

Earlier in their career, Chris worked as an Equity Research Associate at Merriman Curhan Ford, conducting primary research in various industries and preparing investment opinion research reports. Chris also served as a Graduate Research Associate at Portland State University and as a Distribution Agent at Tazo Tea.

Chris Smith-Hill, CIPM, holds a Master's degree in Economics from Portland State University, where they studied from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. In addition to their academic achievements, Chris also holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Management (CIPM) from the CFA Institute, which they obtained in March 2018.
