Anna Povzner is a highly experienced engineering leader with a strong background in computer science and software engineering. Currently serving as Director of Engineering for Kafka at Confluent since October 2015, Anna has progressed through various roles including Tech Lead Manager and Principal Engineer. Prior experience includes being a Founding Engineer at Formation Data Systems, where significant contributions were made to product development, and a Research Staff Member at IBM Research, focusing on storage throughput mechanisms. Anna also held roles at NetApp and Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, and possesses advanced degrees in computer science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute'.
