Bruce McGaughy currently serves as the Senior Director of Engineering for Kafka at Confluent since March 2025. Prior experience includes significant roles at Amazon Web Services, where Bruce led the engineering teams for Amazon Redshift and Amazon QLDB from January 2019 to March 2025. Prior to AWS, Bruce was the CTO and Senior VP of Engineering at ProPlus Design Solutions from July 2008 to January 2017, overseeing a team of 120 developers.
