Jan Werner

Jan Werner is a seasoned security engineer with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently a Senior Security Engineer at Confluent since May 2022, Jan previously held roles at Red Hat as a Senior Product Security Engineer and Product Security Engineer. Jan's academic background includes significant research engineering experience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on data loss prevention solutions and securing infrastructure for large-scale research data collection. Early career experience includes research assistance at ISIS Vanderbilt University and network administration at Nicolaus Copernicus University. Jan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University and additional degrees in Applied Physics and Computer Science from Nicolaus Copernicus University.
