Joe Hoy is an experienced software engineer and technical architect specializing in Kafka, Java, Java/TypeScript, and web technologies. With nearly two decades of experience, they have focused on XML, web interoperation, performance tuning, systems administration, and architectural design. Joe started their career as a software developer at Nature Publishing Group from 2007 to 2009, then became a technical consultant at MarkLogic until 2013, where they also advanced to roles as a software engineer and senior software engineer. They worked as a freelance technical consultant with Parasol from 2017 to 2019 and are currently a senior software engineer at Kainos, while also serving as a customer success technical architect at Confluent since 2025.
