Joel Hamill

Joel Hamill has extensive experience in technical documentation and team leadership, currently serving as the Director of Technical Documentation at Confluent since July 2017, where responsibilities include product management for documentation-related products, team management, and strategic planning. Prior to this role, Joel Hamill worked at Mesosphere, Inc. from March 2015 to July 2017 as a Documentation Manager and Writer, successfully building a documentation team and authoring a range of technical materials. Additionally, Joel Hamill created a comprehensive documentation suite for Mesosphere, focusing on open-source technologies. Joel Hamill began a career at IBM, where from January 2001 to 2015, responsibilities included writing, editing, and project management as a Senior Technical Writer and team lead. Joel Hamill holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Technical and Scientific Communication from the University of Washington, obtained in 2002.
