Mario Niebla

Mario Niebla currently serves as the Senior Director of Engineering for the Security Platform at Confluent since July 2025. Prior to this role, Mario held the position of Senior Director of Engineering in Identity and Access Management at Workday from July 2023 to July 2025, leading an 80-member team across the US and EU in developing CIAM applications and overseeing significant security initiatives. At Twilio, Mario worked from January 2016 to November 2022, initially as a Software Architect, progressing to Senior Director of Engineering for Identity and Access & Edge Platforms, managing teams across three regions. Earlier experiences include architecting solutions for Zinio LLC and Viadeo, contributing to performance and scalability optimizations. Mario holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from UC San Diego, awarded in June 2003.
