Sameer Tejani

Sameer Tejani is an Engineering Manager at Confluent since July 2022, where the focus is on the Kafka Core Engine's Metadata layer. Previously, Sameer spent over 26 years at Microsoft in various leadership roles, including Principal Engineering Manager for Azure Resource Manager, which serves as the control plane for Azure's resource management. Sameer also served as Principal Development Lead for the Windows Developer Platform, contributing to Project Rome, and for the SQL Engine Core Security Infrastructure, where significant security features were delivered in SQL 2008. Earlier experience includes work as a Senior Software Design Engineer for SQL Storage Engine, designing a high-performance SQL OS abstraction layer, and as a Software Design Engineer implementing INSTEAD. Sameer holds a Master's degree in Computer & Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The City College of New York.
