Congregation Shaar Hashomayim, founded in 1846 and located in Westmount, Quebec, is Canada's oldest and largest traditional synagogue. 

Welcoming Jews of all levels of observance, we are a vibrant congregation that adheres to traditional Halacha Jewish law. Our services feature beautiful music, stimulating learning and a powerful sense of community.

Our Congregation has a strong bond with the State of Israel - a bond that has been strengthened over the entirety of Israel's history. We teach and act upon a sense of responsibility for all members of the Jewish community and for all humanity. 

Our facilities are alive seven days a week with a myriad of activities for all 
ages: educational, social and musical.
