Manuel de Sousa

Manuel de Sousa has extensive work experience in various finance and management roles. Manuel served as the Vice President Finance, International at CONMED Corporation from 2016 onwards. Prior to that, they were the Chief Financial Officer at BOBST Mex SA from 2013 to 2015.

From 2011 to 2015, Manuel worked as a Principal at Garrett & Paz, a boutique consultancy firm specializing in finance, strategic planning, and general management. Manuel was also a Founding Partner at SHEN & Partners from 2011 to 2013, providing on-demand senior expertise in the life sciences industry.

Manuel held the position of Chief Financial Officer at ACSA - Advanced Cells Solutions and Applications from 2011 to 2013, focusing on the development of lyophilized homologous crude platelet lysate. In 2011, they also served as the Chief Financial Officer at SwissINSO, a company dedicated to developing solar-powered systems for local communities.

Prior to these roles, Manuel worked at Stryker EMEA, first as the Controller, EMEA from 2003 to 2006, then as the Director of Finance, Operations & IS from 2006 to 2008, and finally as the CFO from 2008 to 2010. Manuel also held the position of Corporate Auditor at Altria from 2000 to 2002, and served as the European Controller at Cytyc from 1999 to 2000. Manuel began their career as an Accounting Team Leader at Beckman Coulter in 1994.

Manuel de Sousa obtained a Leadership Certificate from Harvard Business School in 2008. Before that, they completed an MSc in Financial Management at the University of London in 2006. Manuel also holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, General from ESCEA / HEG / SEBA.
