Dr Nick Kennedy has held a variety of positions in the medical field since 1990. Dr Nick obtained their full Australian Medical Registration in 1990 and since then has held various roles such as Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist at the NHS, Clinical Director at Taunton & Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, and Lead Bariatric Anaesthetist at the South West Regional Bariatric Surgery Centre. In 2009, they became Chairman of the Board of the Society for Obesity and Bariatric Anaesthesia (SOBA). Dr Nick also held Non-Executive Director roles at Connectd, Go-Op Rail, and NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, as well as an Independent Clinician, Governing Body (Non-Exec and Advisory position) at NHS Bristol, N. Somerset, South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group.
Dr Nick Kennedy completed their MB BS degree in Medicine from St Bartholomews Hospital Medical College, London between 1981 and 1986. Dr Nick obtained their Full UK Medical Registration from the General Medical Council in November 1986. Dr Nick also obtained their Full Australian Medical Registration from the AHPRA (Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) in November 1990. In 2013, they completed the LEAD Course: Leadership Training and Coaching from the NHS Leadership Academy. In 2016, they completed the Diversity Advantage Programme: Introducing Diversity to NHS Boards from the NHS Leadership Academy. In 2018, they completed the Effective Audit and Risk Committee Training from the NHS Leadership Academy. In 2019, they completed the Advanced Non-Executive Director Skills from the NHS Leadership Academy. Dr Nick has also completed miscellaneous training in Safeguarding, (Adults and Children) Equality, Diversity, Conflicts of Interest, Data Security, Fraud Awareness, Conflict Resolution, and Information Governance from NHS England, as well as Biannual NHS Non-Exec Education and Training Days from PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS ADVISORY.
