Connections to Care (formerly Escorted Transportation Service) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2006 with the unique goal of providing reliable, volunteer-based, escorted transportation for the seniors in the NW suburbs to get to their crucial medical and dental appointments. There is a huge need for this program, particularly as our senior population continues to grow. Since our inception we have provided over 33,000 rides to seniors in the NW suburbs of Chicago.

Connections to Care volunteers use their own vehicles to pick the senior up at their residence, drive them to their appointment, wait with them, and then return them home again. The service is available by appointment only and a minimum of one week’s advance notice is required. A simple application must be filled out and on file before we’ll accept any ride requests. A $15 donation is requested for each round-trip ride. All volunteer drivers are trained, have been background checked and are provided with additional insurance.

We’re the ideal choice for seniors who wish to retain as much independence as possible. Connection to Care's service is also a wonderful option for seniors whose children don’t live nearby or whose friends or relatives are unable to take time off work in order to take them to a medical appointment.
