Derek Jager

Derek Jager has extensive experience in the energy and process industries, beginning with a position as a Process Operator at Dyno Nobel from August 2006 to 2007. After that, Derek worked as a Power Engineer and Plant Technician at The Linde Group from August 2007 to February 2009, managing three air separation units in the GPA. Between February 2009 and April 2013, Derek served as a Power Engineer at Markham District Energy, focusing on control room operations, maintenance, and distribution systems. From March 2013 to May 2020, Derek continued in a similar role as a Control Room Operator and Power Engineer at Nexen, overseeing SAGD field operations. Following a brief stint as a Process Operator at Suncor from October 2021 to January 2022, Derek has been employed as a Power Engineer at ConocoPhillips since January 2022. Additionally, Derek held the position of Power Engineer and Process Operator at PetroChina Canada from May 2020 to October 2021. Educational achievements include a degree in General Arts and Science from St. Lawrence College (2003-2004) and a degree in Power Engineering from Cambrian College (2004-2006).
