Eike Schmilinsky

Chief Metallurgist at Consarc

Eike Schmilinsky has extensive work experience in the metallurgy industry. Eike began their career at VDM Metals Group in 2000, where they served as a Project Manager for Process Development. In this role, they oversaw the contract forging operations in the UK and Italy, as well as the process development of nickel-based superalloys.

In 2007, Eike joined Acciaierie Valbruna S.p.A. as the Remelting Plant Manager, responsible for the remelt shop in Italy, which included ESR & ESRR units from INTECO and a newly installed VAR from Ald-VT. Eike also supervised the reinstallation of two VARs in their US remelt shop in Fort Wayne, spending a significant amount of time in the US for this project.

From 2012 to 2017, Eike worked at Kind & Co. Edelstahlwerk GmbH & Co. KG as the Melt Shop Manager. Eike was in charge of the scrap yard, airmelt shop (with induction furnaces), and remelt shop (with ESR units from Consarc and INTECO). Eike successfully led a modernization campaign, implementing various upgrades and improvements to the facilities. Eike managed a team of 40 operators and 3 foremen.

Most recently, Eike joined Consarc Corporation in 2017 as the Chief Metallurgist.

Eike Schmilinsky completed their Abitur at Eisenhüttenstadt from 1973 to 1986. Later, from 1988 to 1993, they pursued a degree in Steel Technology at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, earning a Dipl.-Ing. degree.
