Brigitte Smit is a seasoned qualitative research methodologist, currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta and a retired Research Professor from the University of South Africa. Since 2019, they have operated as a self-employed independent academic and research consultant, specializing as an ATLAS.ti accredited senior professional trainer. Brigitte has contributed significantly to the field, having presented over 300 papers and workshops internationally and serving on various academic committees, including the NRF Specialist Committee for Education and as an editor for journals in qualitative methods. They hold a PhD in Education Management from the University of Pretoria.
