Geoffrey Swenson

Geoffrey Swenson is an independent consultant and adviser with over 35 years of experience in international economic development, particularly in Indonesia. They have worked with various international organizations, including the World Bank and USAID, focusing on governance, land use planning, and agriculture/environmental challenges. Notably, Swenson led initiatives under the MCC’s Green Prosperity pillar and served as Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Building Institutions for Good Governance program. They hold a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University and have made significant contributions to the field through leadership and capacity building in local governance and development. Currently, Swenson provides advisory services to consulting firms and NGOs, emphasizing the importance of development for societal welfare.
