Martin Birley

Martin Birley, PhD, HonMFPH, is a global consultant in Health Impact Assessment with over 35 years of experience. Currently self-employed as a principal consultant, they provide strategic inputs for integrating health assessments across various sectors, including oil, gas, and water resources. Martin co-founded the health section of the International Association for Impact Assessment and has held advisory roles with major organizations such as WHO and the World Bank. They previously served as a senior lecturer at the University of Liverpool, where they contributed significantly to the field of health impact assessment. Martin has also authored numerous publications on the subject and offers low fees and voluntary work for intriguing projects.
