Michael E. Kimerling

Michael E. Kimerling is a retired physician and public health professional with a focus on global health, particularly in tuberculosis care and elimination. They have served as a medical doctor with Médecins Sans Frontières and the American Refugee Committee, and held various academic positions, including Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington and Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Their leadership roles include Director of the Technical Services Division at KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation and Senior Program Officer at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where they guided global TB policy and program innovations. Since 2020, they have been working as an independent consultant, continuing to engage in diverse health initiatives across multiple regions worldwide.
