Bud Hartel

Bud Hartel has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Bud is currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Consensus Cloud Solutions. Prior to this, they held positions at J2 Global, where they were a Director of Engineering and an Associate Director of Engineering. In these roles, they managed teams of software engineers, migrated legacy processes to AWS Cloud, and implemented new APIs for Enterprise Faxing.

Before J2 Global, Bud worked at What's in Your Neighborhood as a Sr. Manager Software Engineering. There, they led the development of a desktop and online geo-based business directory with custom mapping capabilities. Additionally, they worked at Batiz.com as the Technical Director and Lead Developer, where they managed a creative team and developed multimedia recruiting tools for the US Navy.

Earlier in their career, Bud owned Professional Computer Solutions and Integrated Home Technologies, where they focused on home automation and security systems integration. Bud also worked at Creative Cabinetry, Inc. as an Operations Manager, overseeing the computerization of the design and bidding processes for modular cabinetry.

Bud's expertise in electronics is evident from their role as the Chief Instructor of Electronics at ITT Technical Institute, where they taught microprocessor applications, computer networking, and electronics theory.

Prior to their civilian career, Bud Hartel served in the US Navy as an Electronic Technician Chief Petty Officer, specializing in reactor controls and maintenance on an FBM submarine.

Additionally, Bud Hartel received training in Electronics at the US Navy's Advanced First Term Avionics (Class A) School. Bud also studied Nuclear Power Technologies at the US Navy's Navy Nuclear Power School. Finally, they completed the Submarine Qualification program, focusing on Submarine Operations and Safety, while serving in the US Navy.
