Brian Miller

Program Director, AmeriCorps Field Crews at Conservation Corps

Brian is responsible for overseeing the effective planning, management, development, sustainability, and growth of all aspects of the AmeriCorps Field Crew Program. He started his Corps tenure as a Young Adult crew member in June of 2001. Since then, he has served as crew leader, field specialist, SYC wilderness crew coordinator, central district assistant manager, and central district manager.

Brian has a Bachelors's in Biology from St. Olaf College with minors in Environmental Studies and American Racial and Multicultural Studies. In addition to his formal education, he grew up in the outdoors, camping and spending summers at the cabin. Brian was also an active member of the Boy Scouts of America where he spent many weeks in leadership training and backcountry and front country camping adventures.

His favorite thing about working with the Corps is the connections made with Corps members, staff, and partners as well as the opportunity to explore and protect natural areas throughout the Midwest.

Outside of work, Brian is an avid outdoors person and spends lots of time camping, hiking, canoeing, hunting, and ice fishing. He is also a big fan of live, local music and attends many regional concerts and festivals. His most recent and rewarding use of spare time is being the proud father of daughters Louisa and Beatrice and introducing them to the outdoors and conservation.
