Conservation Synergies supports organisations to be more resilient and effective from the inside-out. We work with organisations, teams and individuals to identify and overcome structural and systemic challenges that we find in protected areas and conservation agencies. 

We have developed, and are testing and implementing, an innovative framework for organisational resilience in conservation organisations. This includes better understanding the extreme contexts in which people, teams and organisations undertake conservation. Our work also focuses on building resilience to corruption, rights-violations and other unethical behaviours, and improving mechanisms to benefit from diversity in our teams and organisations (while keeping people safe and overcoming barriers). Our work includes strengthening leaders and teams to work in challenging and extreme contexts using evidence-based leadership strategies and by developing the tools to have challenging and difficult conversations and promote psychological safety - whilst still getting the job done.

We are a non-profit that combines significant practical experience with innovation by bringing evidence-based ideas from other fields to support governments & partners to better deliver conservation impact. 

Current projects:
- Supporting development & implementation of Park Resilience Plans to improve effectiveness and organisational resilience, and to reduce & build resilience to corruption & misconduct in five critical NPs in South Africa, Zambia & Indonesia
- Developing and testing evidence-based approaches to improve financial literacy and reduce ranger indebtedness
- Developing and testing an evidence based framework for strengthening ranger gender equity and promoting social inclusion - leveraging the benefits of diversity
- Supporting local NGOs in organisational resilience processes
