Gautam Satalkar has been working in the technology industry since 2000. Gautam began their career at frog design as a UI Designer, where they were responsible for web and Java UI design systems for a major client with 80+ applications spanning 3 major product releases. Gautam also owned component and interaction design, UI design training, and heuristic evaluations, as well as creating easy prototyping tools and giving demos and training in multiple client locations.
In 2003, Gautam moved to Microsoft's Bing as a Senior UX Designer. There, they were the lead designer for Bing Homepage, Bing Facebook Integration, Bing Shopping, Bing Deals, and Bing Answers, presenting regularly to executive leadership and to the larger product teams for reviews and to build consensus on key design decisions. Gautam also created design systems, guidelines, storyboarding, and prototyping templates, and produced hands-on, detailed design solutions. Gautam then took on the role of UX Design Lead, where they built and led a small team of designers through 2 major releases, redesigning information architecture, interaction models, and doing a complete visual design refresh for the entire product. Gautam also conducted focus group research in various US cities at Dynamics business conferences.
In 2012, Gautam joined PayPal as a UX Director, delivering simple, rich UX solutions to complex payment challenges. Their projects included multi-channel payment products on mobile and web, PayPal Global Checkout, merchant engagement, merchant account servicing, consumer and merchant on-boarding, and more. Gautam also built, led, and mentored multiple design teams at PayPal to contribute to millions of dollars in additional revenue for flagship products.
Most recently, Gautam has been the Co-Founder of Consider since 2017, heading product and design. Consider is an AI sourcing and recruiting product, helping hiring teams find the perfect candidates from many sources, and colleagues can refer their friends right from Slack.
Gautam Satalkar has a diverse educational background. Gautam received a Master of Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in Industrial Design, a Master of Science from Arizona State University in Human Factors in Design, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University in Mechanical Engineering.
