Kara Brick

Kara Brick has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Kara began their career at Gallery 137, where they worked as a Gallery Assistant, coordinating special events and maintaining a database for client communications and artwork archiving. Following that, they joined The Cake Artist as a Cake Decorator, designing and executing specialty cake orders and managing inventory. Kara then worked as an Administrative Assistant at The Law Offices of Michael L. Walker, where they provided administrative support and managed the calendar for Michael L. Walker, Esq. Kara also gained experience in marketing and public relations as a Marketing & Public Relations Intern at CITYarts, Inc., where they handled email and phone correspondences, helped plan and execute fundraising events, and managed the organization's social media outlets. Kara then worked as a Marketing Assistant at Nectar Ads / Hyperallergic, where they assisted the marketing director in developing interactive strategies, managed campaigns, and developed and copyedited sponsored blog posts and emails. Kara later joined Linda R. Silverman Fine Art LLC as an Assistant Art Advisor, providing research and archival support, assisting in appraisals, and specializing in the buying and selling of contemporary art. Their most recent position was at Constant, LLC, where they worked as an AP Lead, managing the Accounts Payable department and ensuring the accurate recording and reconciliation of accounts payable data.

Kara Brick received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, graduating in 2008. Kara then pursued a Pastry & Baking Arts Certification from the Institute of Culinary Education from 2009-2010. In 2011, they began their Master of Arts in Visual Arts Administration at the Fashion Institute of Technology, specializing in Art Market Principles & Practices, and completed the program in 2013. Additionally, they attended Université Paris-Sorbonne in 2007 for a language study program focused on French. In terms of additional certifications, Kara obtained an Appraisal Certification from the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice in 2013.
