Chris Hoofnagle is a Professor of Law in Residence at the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law and a Professor of Practice at UC Berkeley School of Information, with extensive involvement in law and technology. In addition to serving as Faculty Director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology since 2006, Chris is an Advisory Board Member for Palantir Technologies and Constella Intelligence, providing expertise in privacy and civil liberties. As Of Counsel at Gunderson Dettmer, Chris advises emerging technology companies on privacy and information security law. Chris has previously held the position of President at the Digital Trust Foundation and worked as an Attorney at the Electronic Privacy Information Center. Currently, Chris will be a Visiting Scholar at King's College London, focusing on national security and AI/ML in defense processes. Chris earned a JD from the University of Georgia School of Law and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia.
