Sylvain Henry has a diverse and extensive work experience. Sylvain began their career in 2008 at Rio Tinto as an Automotive R&D Leader, where they managed the portfolio of R&D projects related to the Body-in-White and Heat Exchanger markets. During their time at Rio Tinto, Sylvain played a crucial role in helping Constellium enter the German automotive market by leading alloy and solution development projects for major customers such as Daimler, Audi, Porsche, and PSA.
In 2011, Sylvain joined Constellium and held various positions over the years. Sylvain started as the Manager of Special Projects in the Customer Application Engineering department, where they coordinated a significant Capital Expenditure project for the Issoire plant in France. Sylvain also wrote the Request for Approval, which was validated by the Constellium CEO.
Sylvain's expertise and leadership led him to become the Director of Customer Application Engineering, where they managed a multicultural team of 15 engineers across Europe, North America, and Asia. Sylvain focused on achieving peak performance in technical sales and customer service for major Aerospace and Transportation customers. Sylvain collaborated with the Vice President of Sales to define product development strategies and streamline the R&D project portfolio to better meet customer expectations and maximize value creation for the company.
In 2017, Sylvain became the R&D Director at Constellium and later took on the additional role of Site Director at Constellium C-TEC. Sylvain was responsible for overseeing research and development activities in the company. Currently, Sylvain holds the position of Vice President of Research and Development at Constellium.
Sylvain Henry earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineer from CentraleSupélec in 1994, specializing in Materials Science. Sylvain then pursued a Ph.D. in Materials Science from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), which they completed in 1998.
