Daniel de la Torre

Head of R&D at Constructive Bio

Daniel de la Torre has worked as a Head of R&D at Constructive Bio since March 2022. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Scientist at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) from April 2020 to May 2021, where they reprogrammed the genetic code of a synthetic E. coli strain and rewrote and recoded the entire genome of Escherichia coli. Daniel also served as a Doctoral Researcher at LMB from October 2016 to March 2020. Additionally, Daniel worked as an Undergraduate Student Supervisor for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Part IB at the University of Cambridge from October 2018 to May 2019, and as a Research Internship at UCL from June 2015 to August 2015.

Daniel de la Torre completed a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from UCL between 2013 and 2016. After that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge, which they completed between 2016 and 2020.
