Markus Englert

Markus Englert is currently a Principal Scientist at Constructive Bio, where they are pioneering the rewriting of the genetic code to enhance Escherichia coli as cell factories. Previously, Markus served as a Scientific Lead at Novonesis and at Chr. Hansen, and worked as a Project Manager on metabolic and genome engineering projects at Jennewein Biotechnologie. Markus earned a Master’s degree in Chemistry from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and completed their PhD studies there as well, where their work led to the identification of the plant tRNA splicing ligase. Additionally, Markus has an extensive postdoctoral background from Yale University.
