Jesse DeOms

Jesse DeOms has a decade of work experience in education and software development. Jesse began their career in 2011 as a Secondary Physics Teacher for Baltimore City Public Schools. From there, they moved on to become a Corps Member Advisor and Baltimore City Corps Member for Teach For America. In 2014, they worked as an Algebra and Statistics Teacher at Thurgood Marshall Academy and a Curriculum Advisor at EXPLO. In 2017, they became a Senior Web Solutions Consultant for CapTech Ventures, Inc. In 2019, they were a JavaScript React Subject Matter Expert for Skillcrush. In 2020, they were a Senior JavaScript Developer for Constructor, a React Content Contributor for Codecademy, and a Lead React/Redux Developer for Mobomo.

Jesse DeOms has a diverse educational background. In 2007, they earned a BS from Vanderbilt University, majoring in Economics, Math, and Engineering Science. From 2011 to 2014, they pursued a Master of Science in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins, with a focus in Urban Education and Leadership. In 2017, they completed a Software Engineering program at Hack Reactor, specializing in Full Stack Javascript.
