Jon Duffy is an experienced executive with a strong background in leadership and governance in various sectors, including consumer protection, financial services, and cybersecurity. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Consumer NZ since April 2020 and as a Director at the Banking Ombudsman Scheme (NZ), Duffy's previous roles include Board Member at NetSafe New Zealand and Assistant Commissioner at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. Duffy has also contributed to the Code Committee for Financial Advisors, where the committee produced the Code of Professional Conduct for Authorised Financial Advisers, and served on the CERT Establishment Advisory Board. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Trade Me and the Commerce Commission. Duffy holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in German Language and Literature from Victoria University of Wellington.
