Cara Determan has a diverse range of work experience in the field of web design and user experience. Cara began their career at George Mason University in 1995 as a Web Design Coordinator and Lead Web Designer, where they worked until 1998. Cara then joined About.com as an Art Director and Lead Web Designer, staying with the company until 2001. After that, they joined Consumer Reports as a Web Art Director in 2002, eventually progressing to the role of Web Design Manager in 2004. In 2011, they became the Creative Director of Digital Design at Consumer Reports, and in 2014, they were promoted to the position of Director of User Experience.
Cara Determan obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Fine and Studio Arts from George Mason University, which they attended from 1992 to 1996. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained two certifications: "Designing Strategy" from IDEO U in September 2022 and "Leading Complex Projects" from IDEO U in August 2021.
