Mark Groenke

Mark Groenke has extensive work experience in engineering and product development roles. Mark currently holds the position of Sr. Director of Engineering at ConTech Lighting since March 2020. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty at the College of Lake County from August 2017 to June 2020. Mark also served as the Senior Director of Engineering at Leviton from April 2017 to March 2020. Mark has held various engineering leadership positions at different companies, including Vice President of Engineering at ConTech Lighting from December 2008 to April 2017, Product Engineering Manager at AFX / American Fluorescent in 2008, and Operations Manager at Motorola from May 2006 to February 2008. Mark also served as the Director of Engineering and Product Development at Pelstar LLC. from July 2004 to May 2006 and as a Manager at Accenture from November 2000 to July 2004. Mark began their career at Motorola in 1993, where they held multiple roles, including Product Manager, Mechanical Engineering Group Leader, Mechanical Design Engineer, and Automation Engineer.

Mark Groenke holds an MBA degree in Entrepreneurial Finance / Private Equity from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Mark also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with a specialization in Thermodynamics from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. In addition, they have obtained certifications such as Certified Solidworks Professional (CSWP) from Dassault Systèmes and Lighting Certified (LC) from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions. Mark is also a Master Project Manager (MPM) certified by PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESOURCE GROUP, Inc.
