BJ Smith

BJ Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. They started their career as an Industrial Engineer at Collins & Aikman, where they focused on quality standards and continuous improvement practices. Following that, they worked as a CAD Engineer at Mid-Atlantic Building Systems Inc, creating unique architectural plans for modular homes. They then transitioned into law enforcement as a Police Officer at the City of Charlotte, where they managed special events and performed various duties related to planning, staffing, budgeting, supervision, and public relations. BJ later joined Insight Global as a Java Developer, specializing in software development. Subsequently, they worked at Contegix as a Software Developer, and their most recent role was as an Application Developer at Centene Corporation.

BJ Smith received an Associate of Science degree in Mechanical Drafting and Mechanical Drafting CAD/CADD in 1995 from Stanly Community College (SCC). In 1998, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. From 2003 to 2005, BJ pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General at Pfeiffer University. In 2018, they completed a Full Stack Web Development program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In 2019, BJ obtained a Java Development certification, also from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
