Karen McGrane is a seasoned professional in customer insights, design management, and user experience, currently serving as Senior Director of Customer Insights & Adoption at Contentful since April 2025. Previously, McGrane was a Partner at Autogram, a consultancy specializing in content management, design systems, and digital strategy. Experience also includes teaching Design Management in the MFA Program in Interaction Design at the School of Visual Arts from September 2009 to August 2023. Prior roles include Managing Partner at Bond Art + Science and VP and National Lead of User Experience at SapientRazorfish. McGrane holds a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Philosophy from the University of Minnesota. Additionally, McGrane has completed a Summer Intensive in Sign Language at Gallaudet University.
