Dawit Gebremichael

Dawit Gebremichael has a wealth of experience in the engineering field, beginning with a Software Engineer role at Lockheed Martin in 1996. Dawit then moved on to become a Senior Software Engineer at NextiraOne (formerly Williams Energy's communication group) in 2001. In 2005, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Gexa Energy and in 2006, they became a Principal Software Engineer at MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2007, they began their role as Adjunct Faculty at Houston Community College and in 2013, they took on a similar role at the University of Houston. In 2017, they became the Senior Director of Engineering at CorEvitas, LLC and in 2022, they were appointed Director of Engineering at Context Labs Energy.

Dawit Gebremichael has a diverse educational background. Dawit holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, an MS in Biomedical Informatics from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston), and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. In addition, they obtained a John Hopkins data science specialization certificate from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2014-2015. Dawit also holds certifications in R Programming, The Data Scientist’s Toolbox, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from Coursera and Scrum Alliance, respectively.
