Continental Coatings Inc. was established in 1978 and is headquartered in Fontana CA, approximately 50 miles east of Los Angeles. The company specializes in the manufacture and custom formulation of high performance industrial coatings for a wide variety of substrates, end users, and OEM customers. Manufacturing (plant) facilities are located in  Fontana (CA), Houston (TX) and Chicago (IL).

Continental Coatings is the fastest growing coil coating company in North America and continues to rapidly grow their customer and business base by cost effectively supplying premium high performance industrial paints and coatings. 

The company  manufactures a wide range of industrial paints and coatings in both solvent and waterborne technologies. Coating Chemistries include Acrylic, Epoxy, Alkyd, Polyester, Polyurethane, Silicone Modified Polyester and Fluorocarbon. Continental now also stocks and distributes many of the Yung Chi Rainbow Heavy Duty and Fire Retardant industrial coatings used globally for major Petrochemical, Refinery, and Power Plant projects.

In 2014, Continental was acquired by Yung Chi Paint and Varnish Manufacturing Company, Ltd. of Kaohsiung Taiwan.  Yung Chi, also known by their signature brand Rainbow, is a Pacific Rim leader in Architectural and Industrial Coatings. Yung Chi also owns and operates manufacturing facilities in China, Malaysia, and Vietnam and is a global market leader for Heavy Duty, Marine, Specialty Industrial, and Coil Coating products.
