John Wearly

John Wearly is an experienced professional in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as Manager of Portfolio and Strategic Planning at Continental Resources since September 2017. Throughout time at Continental Resources, John has held several managerial roles, including Manager of Production Engineering for the Permian region and Manager of Business Development, as well as serving as a Staff Reservoir Engineer in Business Development. Prior to this, John was a Reservoir Engineer at Chaparral Energy from September 2012 to September 2017, where responsibilities included Resource Development as part of a team in the STACK play. John is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Rice Business from 2023 to 2025, having previously earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma Christian University in 2012.
