David Bird

David Bird has extensive experience in security consultancy, particularly in high-risk regions. Since 2000, David has served Control Risks in various capacities, including Embedded Consultant and Security Consultant, providing security solutions for clients in Nigeria, the Palestinian West Bank, Yemen, and Sudan. Responsibilities have included overseeing inshore and offshore security operations, managing local armed protection teams, training security personnel, and developing comprehensive security strategies and crisis management plans. Prior to Control Risks, David held the position of Security Manager/Consultant at Genric Holdings in the Philippines, where responsibilities included writing security manuals and liaising with local law enforcement. David's foundational education was completed at Portsmouth Grammar School between 1977 and 1980.
