Jonathan Leonard

Jonathan Leonard is a Senior Operations Manager at Control Risks, leading the Crisis and Security Consulting team in East Africa. With over a decade of experience as a British Army officer, they have held various roles, including Platoon Commander and Company Second-in-Command, overseeing teams and managing personnel in high-pressure situations. Their military background is complemented by fluency in Swahili and Arabic, which has enabled them to effectively bridge cultural gaps and lead multicultural units. Jonathan's education includes studies in Arabic at the Defence Centre for Languages and Culture, as well as training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
