Steven Nichtberger

Dr. Nichtberger is a cardiologist and serial entrepreneur who was the founding chairman and CEO of ControlRad. He is currently Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Cabaletta Bio (CABA; Nasdaq). As an adjunct professor at the Wharton School, he leads the Vagelos Life Sciences & Management capstone course on healthcare company formation, financing and leadership. From 2004 to 2011, he was the CEO of Tengion, advancing novel regenerative medicine products from early stage research to late stage clinical trials.

Previously, Dr. Nichtberger held senior strategic and operating roles at Merck including as head of global marketing where he was instrumental in several corporate licensing, divestiture, and product acquisition projects.

From 1984 until 2006, Dr. Nichtberger founded and led a profitable, private company that licensed intellectual property in the field of internet-based paperless couponing. In 2008, Dr. Nichtberger was awarded the National Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Emerging Company Category.
