Joel Cotton has been working in the engineering field since 2005. In 2005, they were a Project Manager at Lees Summit Public Works, where they designed a 400 Acre2 property that included housing, retail, schooling, a church, streets, sewers, and parks. In 2006, they were an intern at Civil, where they were responsible for sizing pumps, pricing controls, and presenting their findings. From 2007 to 2010, they held multiple positions. At MizzouIT, they were a Consultant, helping people troubleshoot programs and training students on programs and their capabilities. At Magnus, they were a Design Consultant, meeting with realtors and customers to discuss their needs for individual projects, developing ideas using 3D models and sketches, and presenting ideas for funding approval. Lastly, at ControlTech Automation - A Barry-Wehmiller Company, they were a Sales Engineer, responsible for developing the midwest corridor and retaining existing client base, as well as identifying and penetrating new target accounts.
Joel Cotton attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and a minor in Math. From 2006 to 2007, they attended the Columbia Career Center and obtained a Certified Welder in ARC, MIG, and TIG. Joel also attended Dale Carnegie.
