Divakar R. has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Divakar is currently serving as the EVP, Chief Technology Officer & Head of R&D at ConvaTec since 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Chief Digital Officer & VP - Digital Health at Eli Lilly and Company from 2018 to 2020. Divakar also served as the Vice President - Delivery, Device & Connected Solutions at Eli Lilly and Company from 2013 to 2020. In 2013, they were the Senior Vice President - Process Development, Manufacturing, and Quality at Moderna Therapeutics.
Divakar R. has also had a long tenure at Eli Lilly and Company, where they held various leadership roles. Divakar served as the Vice President - Global Manufacturing, Elanco Business Unit from 2011 to 2013, Vice President and General Manager, Eli Lilly SA- Irish Branch from 2009 to 2011, and Vice President - Manufacturing Science & Technology from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they held the positions of Senior Director- Strategic Facilities Planning and Senior Director- Biotech Manufacturing Strategy.
Before joining Eli Lilly and Company, Divakar R. worked as a Management Consultant at Cook Pharmica, LLC from 2004 to 2005. Divakar began their career at Mobil Corporation (now Exxon Mobil) as a Senior Chemical Engineer from 1997 to 1998. Throughout their career, Divakar R. has held various roles in research and development, manufacturing, and technology leadership.
Divakar R. has a strong educational background. Divakar obtained their B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Anna University in 1991. Divakar then pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Penn State University, which they completed in 1997. Later, they attended Harvard Business School and earned an MBA in Business Administration and Management, General, graduating in 2005.
