John Pethtel is the Chief Technology Officer at Convergence. John has over eight years of experience in software development and management, specifically in security reference data and risk analytics.

Pethtel began their career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2007 as a software development manager. In this role, they led the full SDLC build of a core Client API and Engine that provided clients with both Request/Reply and Publish/Subscribe combined requests capabilities. This project became the core infrastructure of all Equity Front Office systems and is now branching to include Fixed Income and Derivatives departments. Pethtel was also responsible for the integration of the capabilities of our API/ENGINE with the MQ oriented Pub/Sub solutions within the core Reference Data group of the firm. In addition, they handled all client interaction and led Business Analysis of Reference Data within the Equity Front Office.

In 2011, Pethtel transitioned to the Portfolio (Risk Analytics) team, where they designed, developed and deployed a core referential, market and modeling data provider for our core Risk Engine and various other Reporting and batch processing systems to utilize for generating risk and position reports to various clients. John also handled all storage and hardware requirements within the group, working with Product Management to determine and get sign off on the purchases and installation of technology assets.
