Brian Nelson is a seasoned legal and policy expert currently serving as a Partner at Cooley LLP since October 2025. Prior to this role, Nelson was a Senior Policy Advisor for the Harris for President campaign from August to November 2024 and held the position of Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from December 2021 to August 2024. Nelson's extensive experience also includes serving as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games, as well as roles in various legal and advisory capacities within the U.S. Department of Justice and the California Department of Justice.
