David Young

David Young is a partner at Cooley LLP, with a career spanning over two decades in law and venture capital. At Cooley LLP, involvement began in July 2012, while previous experience includes a role as technical consultant for HBO's "Silicon Valley" from 2013 to March 2020. Prior positions include Chairman of Owl Technologies, Inc., partner at DLA Piper US LLP where David chaired the Southern California Corporate and Securities Group, and partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP as Co-Chair of the Venture Capital & Technology Group. Earlier experience encompasses serving as a senior attorney at Venture Law Group. Educational qualifications include a JD from USC Gould School of Law and an MBA in Finance from USC Marshall School of Business, both obtained in 1995, along with a BA in Government from Pomona College earned in 1991.
