Kara Wilson

Kara Wilson is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in various roles, currently serving as Pro Bono Counsel at Cooley LLP since March 2022. Prior to this, Wilson held the position of Associate General Counsel, Regulatory at Facebook from May 2020 to March 2022, and worked as Litigation and Product Counsel at Instacart from June 2018 to May 2020. Wilson began a legal career as a Litigation Associate at Cooley LLP from January 2010 to June 2018, after serving as a Public Interest Associate at the National Center for Lesbian Rights for a brief period in 2009. Additional experience includes a Judicial Extern position with the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and a Summer Associate role at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. Wilson also completed an internship as a Peggy Browning Fellow with the Screen Actors Guild and worked as a teacher for several years. Academic qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Mills College.
