Winston Gu

Winston Gu is a Partner at Cooley LLP since May 2021, specializing in representing start-up and emerging growth companies on a broad range of business and legal matters throughout their lifecycle, including incorporation, financing, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate governance. Prior to this role, Winston held corporate associate positions at prominent law firms such as Winston & Strawn LLP, DLA Piper LLP (US), Gunderson Dettmer, and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Winston began a legal career with internships and a summer associate position at The Alliance for Children's Rights and Burr & Forman LLP, respectively. Additionally, Winston taught Algebra I and Algebra II at Huntington Park College Ready Academy High School as a 2007 Corps Member with Teach for America. Winston holds a J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School and a B.A. in Economics and History from Boston University.
