Brittney L.

Brittney L. is a Child Welfare Consultant and Kinship Care Case Managing Specialist, currently engaged as a member of the Child Welfare and Racial Equity Collaborative. With over seventeen foster placements in childhood, Brittney has utilized their lived expertise to advocate for vulnerable youth, focusing particularly on racial equity within the child welfare system. They have held various roles, including Lived Expert Consultant and National Foster Care Youth and Alumni Policy Council Member, while consistently participating in community conversations on child welfare. Brittney aims to empower youth of color, foster youth, and those at risk of homelessness, promoting trauma-informed and socially-emotional learning environments. They graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Gender and Labor Studies from the University of Washington Tacoma.
