Eric Ness

Eric Ness is a materials science expert with extensive experience in research and technical management. Following a long career, Eric retired in August 2019 from a position as Associate Research Fellow. Prior to retirement, Eric served as Research Manager at CoorsTek, Inc. from September 2014, where responsibilities included identifying and solving process and materials challenges. Eric's prior roles encompassed positions such as Technical Manager at Tokai Carbon, USA, and Ceramics Consultant at Twin Creeks Technologies, Inc. Significant contributions include developing models for CVD Silicon Carbide coatings and implementing statistical process control for coating processes. Eric also worked at Morgan Advanced Ceramics and CoorsTek, focusing on product development, process reliability improvements, and cost-saving initiatives. With a PhD in Materials Science from Northwestern University and a BS in the same field from the University of Utah, Eric has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in developing technologies for various industries, including telecommunications, medical, and military applications.
