Alan Hamilton

Alan Hamilton, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Alan is currently serving as the Senior Director of Research at the COPD Foundation since 2022. In the same year, they also founded their own consulting firm, Alan L. Hamilton Consulting Inc., where they hold the position of President.

Previously, Alan worked at Boehringer Ingelheim for over two decades. From 2016 to 2022, they worked as a Clinical Expert, specializing in respiratory diseases. Prior to that, they held various roles within the company, including Senior Clinical Program Leader from 2004 to 2015, Therapeutic Area Specialist in Respiratory Disease from 1999 to 2004, and Clinical Program Manager from 1997 to 1998.

Alan Hamilton, Ph.D. has a diverse education background that includes post-doctoral research fellowship in Pharmacology at McMaster University. Prior to that, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physiology and Pharmacology from McMaster University. Alan also holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sports Science from Loughborough University and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Social and Behavioral Research - Basic/Refresher from the CITI Program in March 2022.
