David Scott

David Scott, P.E., serves as the Engineering Manager at COPELAND since January 2016, overseeing a team of engineers and technicians while engaging in hands-on engineering work. David has extensive experience in firmware and embedded systems engineering, having previously held roles at Micron Technology, where responsibilities included SSD firmware development and testing, and as a Test Engineer focusing on software for memory product testing. Prior positions include Staff Electrical Engineer at A-Dec, Inc., where David led software development for embedded control systems, and various engineering roles at Merix and Vanalco, concentrating on process control systems. David began a career in engineering after serving as a Nuclear Submarine Division Officer in the US Navy, where duties involved supervising submarine electrical systems and training personnel. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Oregon State University and completion of Naval Nuclear Power School.
